Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance (SGLI)Life insurance is available to all active duty and reserve members of the uniformed services of the United States. It provides low-cost term life insurance coverage to active-duty members of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Corps, and the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
Veterans’ Group Life Insurance (VGLI)
A programme that allows members to continue life insurance coverage after service. VGLI provides lifetime coverage as long as they continue to pay premiums. Enrolment is available for a maximum amount of coverage equal to Service members' Group Life Insurance (SGLI) coverage available at the time of separation from service.
