DHFL Pramerica Life Insurance leads the battle against dengue under `Behtar India' campaign

Over 6600 under privileged students from Gurgaon received dengue awareness workshops as well as dengue treatment cover worth Rs 20,000 each for a period of 1 year sponsored by the community.

Gurgaon: DHFL Pramerica Life Insurance (DPLI) under its Behtar India campaign has enabled the community to step forward and help itself in achieving better health, hygiene and environment standards. As part of the campaign, Dengue prevention workshops have been conducted and mosquito repellants plus Dengue treatment cover worth Rs. 20,000 have been handed over to 6666 underprivileged students from 6 government schools in Gurgaon. The last two activities were organized at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Sector 4/7 and Govt. Senior Secondary School, Daulatabad, in Gurgaon.

Behtar India in association with its local NGO partner, The Sanshil Foundation and two volunteer school partners, Lotus Valley International School and Ridge Valley School conducted the interactive workshops for the under privileged students. The workshop focused on educating the children about the preventative measures to be practiced for fighting dengue.

Through this campaign, over 50,000 under-privileged children are being provided dengue protection cover across the country.

DPLI in association with NDTV launched the Behtar India campaign that mobilises citizens, school children and corporates to supplement each other's as well as local administration's efforts in driving awareness and encouraging tangible progressive actions towards building a better India. The nationwide movement focuses on three main pillars' Behtar Swasthya (Better Health), Behtar Swachhta (Better Hygiene) and Behtar Vatavaran (Better Environment). The `Behtar Swasthya' initiative was visualized for spreading Dengue awareness and providing sponsored Dengue treatment cover for underprivileged children. The focus of `Behtar Swachhta' is to organize clean-up drives and spread the message of cleanliness. `Behtar Vatavaran' initiates efforts to create a greener future by planting tree saplings. The unique format of the campaign has seen participation of 900+ schools from 200+ cities of the country.
