Prudential Financial Incorporated (PFI) - Association with the United States Military

PFI has had a longstanding association with the Unites States Military with respect to the support it provides to military personnel through its life insurance programs as well as its work for US Military Veterans. The Company has been recognized many times over for its work for US Military Veterans.

Support to US Military Veterans

Veterans transitioning from active duty bring with them a host of corporate-ready skills and talents. PFI’s Veterans Initiatives was established to encourage veterans to cultivate those capabilities and develop their corporate careers. Some of these initiatives are:

VETalent

In 2010, PFI partnered with Workforce Opportunity Services and Rutgers University, Newark to establish a work/study program called VETalent, which prepares veterans, reservists or members of the National Guard for careers in information technology, sales and business operations. It includes several months of extensive and rigorous job training and classroom work, followed by on-the-job training to qualify for full-time, well-paid career opportunities either with PFI or other companies.

VETnet-Prudential Military Veteran’s Network

This is a Business Resource group composed of PFI employees that provides a vehicle for communication. It enables sharing of common issues and offers an important channel of communication between PFI and the Veterans’ community at large. It helps employees and hiring managers understand the challenges that are faced by Veterans and the value that they bring to the workplace.

PFI administers 3 Life Insurance programs for the uniformed services of the United States. It is supervised by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.

Service Members' Group Life Insurance (SGLI)

It provides low-cost term life insurance coverage to active duty members of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Corps, and United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.

Veterans’ Group Life Insurance (VGLI)

A program that allows members to continue life insurance coverage after they are separated from service. VGLI provides lifetime coverage as long as they continue to pay premium.
